Kenner 1996 #55024 Gotham City Micro Playset

We've got a nice Batman offering for your Sunday viewing pleasure, from 1996 it's Kenner's Gotham City Micro Playset. It's a combination Wayne Manor, Batcave, and Gotham City Bank with the usual compliment of secret hideaway's, operating features, and Heroes and Villains. The set folds out from a compact building block to reveal the inner spaces of Gotham and includes two bags of money, a Bat-Signal, and figures of Bruce Wayne, Batman, and The Joker. When closed it measures 2 3/4" (7cm) W x 3 1/4" (8.3cm) D x 4" (10.2cm) H and opens out to 8 1/4" (21cm) L  x 2" (5.1cm) D x 5 1/4" (13.3cm) H. The figures are ca 1" (2.5cm) H.  Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

Behind the Bat-signal is a secret chamber which allows Bruce Wayne to escape

After twisting the signal around Bruce falls into the chamber

Bruce escapes into the chamber

The Bat-signal gets turned...

(In the center top of the photo you can make out Batman's rigid wings hanging from a peg on the green chamber)

...open the chamber door and Bruce Wayne has miraculously turned into Batman!

He dons his rigid Bat-wings

Meanwhile the Gotham City Bank is being robbed by The Joker...

...but not so fast clown, Batman has arrived

Two extended prongs on the wings are meant to hold villains

The Joker being unceremoniously dumped in jail

..but nothing can stop the Clown Prince of Crime (courtesy of the easily removable jail bars)

Here, Bruce Wayne enters his secret elevator

The door slides close and the lever is used to slide the elevator...

...to the upper level

where he emerges into his lofty lookout

Remember when Bruce was dropped into the chamber behind the Bat-signal? This is where he reappears, the entryway into Wayne Manor on the reverse side of the building

Folding the Bat-signal down allows the whole structure to close

The holes in the cape allow for attachment of the rigid Bat-wings

Batman has The Joker in custody
