Marx Spaceship

Here's a terrific Marx Spaceship from the 1950s. This one does have me a bit perplexed though because it doesn't appear in any of my collector books. Not that I have a very big library but there are several really good books that one would expect this toy to be in, but it's not. Oh well. The toy itself is somewhat unusual in that it has a nice, fully formed fuselage but the wings and engine nacelles are suggested only by their top half, the bottom half is simply not built into the toy. The bottom half of the fuselage is molded in yellow and the top half molded in red partially painted in silver It has an early friction motor and measures 10" (25.4cm) L x 4 1/4" (10.8cm) wingspan x 2 3/8" (6cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
